Iroquois School District is providing notice that it intends to destroy outdated special education records that
are no longer required to be maintained. This destruction will include special education records for students who exited special education services during the year 2021 or earlier. The records are scheduled to be destroyed after August 3, 2026.
Parents, guardians, or eligible adult students who wish to obtain copies of these records before they are
destroyed may do so by contacting the district no later than July 31, 2026.
Requests for copies of records should be submitted to:

by mail at: Iroquois School District, 111 E Washita, Iroquois, SD 57353.
If no request is received by July 31, 2026, the records will be destroyed in accordance with applicable record retention requirements.

The staff spent the last two days in Mitchell attending the Elevate. Educate. Empower. – Moving Literacy Forward Across South Dakota Conference!
This outstanding professional development opportunity, hosted by the South Dakota Department of Education, focused on the latest Science of Reading research and evidence-based literacy practices designed to improve student success. Throughout the conference, our team gained valuable knowledge, practical strategies, and fresh ideas to bring back to our classrooms and support every student’s literacy journey.
We look forward to putting what we’ve learned into action and continuing to help our students grow as confident, successful readers!
